Hello my friends,

It is with great sadness that I greet you today. Cristi Rose, daughter of Jim “Two Crows” Wallen, our former board member, was called home to her Maker on May 31, 2022. She was a bright and shining star, a beautiful woman, mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend. She filled the world with her spirit and love.

I have known Cristi and Aaron, Jim and Deb for over thirty years. They have been close friends. Now Cristi and Deb have passed on and there is a hole left by their passings. Our hearts ache for those left behind. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I know some people have been procrastinating regarding the Liars Contest applications. We have extended the deadline to June 9, 11:59 pm. Be sure to get yours to us in time. The rules are on the website, www.mo-tell.org.

Check this newsletter for more information about the event and the place. Visit St. Louis for the Liars Contest and make it a weekend getaway. There is so much that St. Louis offers its visitors. Come for the tales and stay for the rest!

The MO-TELL board will pre-entertain you with a few lies in our June 10 show on Zoom.

Keep your stories alive,

Joyce Slater

A mischievous young man wanted to mock a wise elder by tricking him. The young man took a small sparrow in his hand and hid it behind his back.

“Old man, if you are so wise, can you tell me if what I have in my handis alive or dead?”

He knew if the wise old man said, “Alive.” He would crush the sparrow and present it dead. If the wise old man said, “Dead.” The young man would present the sparrow alive.

The wise old man, recognized the mischievous young man’s intentions and replied, “Whether it is alive or dead depends on you.”
