A long time ago a king wanted to find and honor the greatest person among his people. Someone with wealth was brought before him. A doctor who had cured the king was brought into his presence. A judge came to be acknowledged. Many others were considered, and the task was more difficult than the king imagined.

Finally, an old woman was brought before the king. “Who is this? What great things has she done?”

The king’s aide said, “Do you think all the others are to be honored?’

“Yes," said the king.

“Then she is the greatest among them. She is their teacher!”

The king bowed before the old woman and declared her to be greatest among his people.

Kyle Slater, September 18, 1975-June 14, 2021

Kyle Slater, son of Joyce and Bob Slater and husband of Dawn Slater, died suddenly on June 14th . He was 45 years of age. He had 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Kyle’s nickname was Smile. It rhymed with Kyle and he like that. He was always there with smile and a helping hand. He could fix most things and carried his tools in his car in case he found someone in need. He was a good mechanic. He loved fishing where he found joy and peace. He rarely brought a fish home though. He hated to kill them. Catch and release was his game. He and his oldest grandson had a special bond because of fishing.

We will miss his funny stories and his laughter. Words cannot express how much he is loved and how much he will be missed.
