Singing and Dancing Through Stories With Olga Loya
Free, Columbia Public Library, Friends Room
100 West Broadway

The culture of Latin America is passed on through personal stories about family and community. Stories about taking responsibility and about building character. Celebrate this tradition with dancing and singing, folk tales and more from Latina storyteller, performance artist, writer and teacher Olga Loya. Using a dramatic mix of Spanish and English to share traditional tales from Latin America, Olga will also share stories from her own colorful life growing up in East Los Angeles. This program is part of the “Latino Americans: 500 Years of History” series which is made possible through a partnership with the Missouri Humanities Council and a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
